Enrollment                    Top

Before you decide to enroll on a course, find out from us what the course entry requirements are, when it runs and how much it costs, and what you will learn on the course.

This information is available by reviewing the contents and requirements of each course from the front page of www.howtodoit.org or contact the Tutor on 07-41596950.

Enrollment involves you buying one of our courses online at our secure Shopping Cart with a credit card, purchase order, direct deposit, cheque or money order. Payment in full for the course that you wish to take must be received before online access is granted.

Our Shopping Cart will automatically issue a Tax Receipt to your email address. Our Learning Management System (LMS) will then send you a "Sign on" email with detailed instructions on how to commence the course online. Once you have signed up for your course you request activation of your training account. This is the last step when you sign up. The tutor will check you are a legitimate student and activate your training account. Your tutor will email you to say you've been activated with further instructions on how to use our LMS and the training you need to complete.

You will be instructed to access the online Syllabus for relative course components such as Exam Procedures, Training Content Tutorials, Student Telephone Assessment procedures, Assignments and how to access tutorial support. This information is also on the Data DVD from the main menu under Student Information and Policies. When you sign in for the first time you will be requested to provide all your personal details. This information is stored in our confidential database.

If you have other qualifications or experience that may allow you to claim RPL for certain competencies, you should initially telephone the tutor for a Student Telephone Assessment for an RPL process to determine if you can be excluded from completing some online learner resources. (see "Recognition of prior learning" below). If your prior qualifications or experience meet the course entry requirements, we will enroll you on the course.

Recognition of prior learning                    Top

We know that you may have done other courses, or have experience, which covers some of the material in the course that you want to do. Sometimes you have learned all of the material in a course, and will want us to recognise that with an AQF qualification.

Please click on this link for an RPL ('Recognition of Prior Learning') form which you can use to tell us about your previous training and experience.

Please note that we will automatically recognise any AQF qualification granted by another Australian Registered Training Organisation.

Complaints                    Top

If you have a complaint, please see any of our staff. They will try to solve the problem with you, and will also help you to fill out a complaint form. If you do not agree with what happened as a result of your complaint, you have the right to have an independent person (someone acceptable to you, and that is acceptable to us) decide what is to happen. The staff member will explain this to you. Please review our Complaints Page first.

Assessments                    Top

You will be given feedback on whether you passed or failed an exam or the course, and why. The Trainer will also tell you about other opportunities that they think would be valuable for you.

If you do not agree with your assessment, you can make a complaint to our management, and if you are still not satisfied then you have the right to get an independent expert to decide (see "Complaints" above).
