Recognition of Prior Learning as applied to ICT10_V1 Training Package
The process of RPL Recognition of Prior Learning is as follows:
- Choose which qualification you wish to apply for? Click the qualification below to review it.
- Review the complete set of competencies in the Certificate 2 or Certificate 3 qualification from ICT10_V1 training package.
- Each qualification has a Total number of units (e.g.12) that you must apply for RPL.
- There are core units that are mandatory requirements, they can't be changed.
- There are also elective units, you may choose from a variety of industry sectors.
- Decide which competencies you wish to apply for, speak with Trevor if you are not sure.
- Download each competency you think will be applicable so you may review the details in each competency.
- You can download a copy of the Competencies by clicking the appropriate competency set below.
As an example, if you need to review ICTTEN2007A Use electrical skills in telecommunications work
- You would go below to the ICT list
- Then choose TEN
- Open that PDF document and find ICTTEN2007A
If the competency you require does not start with ICT, then click on Imported Competencies below to find it.
There are 17 competency sets you may choose.

Once you have chosen your qualification and thoroughly understood the details in each competency you should ring Trevor.
You conversation with Trevor will be recorded as initial evidence to determine an appropriate RPL Pathway. This part is FREE.
The next step is to purchase the costs of completing this RPL Process.
- There is a one off RPL Administration Fee of $110 plus:
- A charge of RPL Assessment of $55 per competency.

You will then be required to provide evidence to support your RPL application.

It is a requirement of the Department of Education and Training that you provide “validation evidence” to support your application. Evidence may be provided to your RTO Assessor in the following formats.
- Photographic evidence of completed work – preferable
- Video evidence of completed work – optional - best suited for persons in remote areas
- Supporting letters from Employers – required for all employees
- References from Customers you have worked for – required for self employed persons
- Demonstration of skills to a CCC hands on day trainer – required for all students (exception RPL granted)
- Resume of your experience and copies of qualifications (if any) – required for all students
After you submit your application and evidence your final step is to ring the Assessor for a recorded Interview.
The goal of this recorded audio and supporting evidence is to compare your experience and evidence to the Certificate's competencies.
If gaps are found you will simply be required to gain more field experience or seek specific training from CCC and our hands on trainers.
A successful outcome to be issued your Certificate will be determined by completion and validation of the following aspects of this RPL process.
- Successfully completing all online assessments of your theory/knowledge – required for all students (exception RPL granted)
- Successfully completing the hands on training day and assessment - required for all students (exception RPL granted)
- Successfully completing the telephone assessment supported by your validation evidence – required for all students
Recognition of Prior Learning may be applicable in any of the 3 determinations listed above. RPL evidence may be used, but will also need to be validated as outlined above.
