  • This training leads to a Nationally recognised qualification "Certificate 3 in Telecommunications Cabling".
  • You then use that Certificate to apply for the ACMA Open Cabling Registration.
  • Cert 2 costs $900 online theory cost then complete your Hands on Training $800*.

You will need an Open Cabling Registration to perform cabling work covered by this qualification.

Hands on Training Projects
The costs for hands on training is $200 per day, normally paid on the day to CCC Trainers based around Australia.

  • Experienced Cablers will require hands on training as follows or may apply for RPL:
    1. One day Cable Distribution and termination, same as Cert 2 HOD
    2. Half day for ADSL modem installation, programming and testing
    3. Half day for Coaxial, Structured Cable termination and testing
    4. Two days for fibre optic installation, termination and testing
  • Trainees and inexperienced cablers may need additional face to face hands on training ($200/day) or
  • Trainees and inexperienced may gain the necessary experience in the field with their Employer and
  • Trainees and inexperienced cablers will still need to complete a minimum single day training with CCC Trainers costing $200 (Cert 2 HOD).

Hands on Assignments and Projects
Assignments may be wavered for experienced cablers who can show evidence they have the necessary skills and knowledge (RPL).
Trainees and inexperienced cablers must complete all assignments and purchase the necessary kits and test equipment needed.

  • The costs for electronic kits used in ICTTEN2007A is less than $50 per student.
  • Students are required to purchase an inexpensive Multimeter.($30)
  • Students will incur costs for consumable items used on the Hand and Power Tools training day.
  • Students are required to purchase a basic tools, IDC tool, side cutters, screwdrivers, pliers, battery drill and bits etc.
  • Students are required to have a wireless Laptop for projects in ICTCBL2139A and an ADSL Modem.

Completing my training, what do I do?

Completing the steps below in these points are required to finish your training then you need to then submit your final evidence to the tutor.

Complete and pass all theory modules requested by the tutor?     

Complete your hands on training or completed RPL/RCC?             

Complete and pass all Assignments and Projects     

You must now prepare all your paperwork to return to the tutor for final assessment. Please follow the steps below.

  1. You should have passed your online final Assessments and Assignments.

  • You are required to give the tutor a written resume or recorded telephone interview. Evidence to support your experience is required. Please download the template to see what is required. A template in WORD (docx) is available to complete by clicking here:

If you have any formal qualifications, Technical Certificates, Electrical Licence, First Aid Certificate etc, you need to photocopy or scan these documents and should be made ready to post or email to the tutor. (never send originals to the tutor)

  1. Hands on Training Evidence
You will have attended a hands on training course. The instructor/mentor gave you an observation checklist that was signed by you both. The original document needs to be found and made ready for posting or emailing to the tutor. If you were requested to keep a workbook of field experience you must get that original book ready for posting to the tutor.

What happens next?
When your paperwork arrives, the tutor will do the following:
  • check you have passed all online final Assessments
  • check you have passed all online final Assignments
  • check you have completed your hands on training, assignments and projects
  • check any RPL evidence provided is correct
  • check any certified copies of qualifications
If all the requirements are met, the tutor will email your Certificate/Attainment Statement to you. You may request a printed copy also.

What happens next?
Your Certificate will be emailed to you as a secured PDF document. You may request a printed copy be posted to you if you prefer a hard copy.

What if my Certificate gets lost in the Mail?
It does not happen often but it can happen.
We will need you to wait a couple of weeks first.
This gives any miss-direction of your mail time to correct itself and get to you.
If you have not received your mail after 2 weeks we will issue another set for free.
You must confirm your correct address by email to Trevor first.
